Claude Hooton
Chief Executive Officer and President
With over twenty-five years of strategic, operational and corporate management experience within high-growth healthcare tech companies, Claude leads the commercial side of the business including finance & administration, sales & marketing, and client operations. Prior to joining the team, Claude managed the U.S. Sales Operations for Qualcomm Life, the healthcare division for Qualcomm Corporation. He also served as President of the PMB Real Estate Services division of Ventas REIT and as EVP / Board Member of Baxa Corporation, a global medical device company later acquired by Baxter International. He’s also held roles at Pyxis, Dura Pharmaceuticals, and Eli Lily. Claude holds a BS in Finance from San Diego State University, and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
Rand Smith
Chief Financial Officer
An experienced finance, accounting, and administrative leader with strong analytical skills and an excellent record of driving operational improvement, Rand oversees all financial aspects of our growth and operations. Prior to NucleusHealth, Rand was Director of Finance for Optum360, a leading provider of health care management services after leading A-Life Medical through its acquisition by the subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. He was also the senior financial executive at iMetrikus, Inc., a health care technology and medical device start-up that focused on remote health care monitoring for patients with chronic conditions. Rand earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from San Diego State University.
Heather Novello
Vice President, Client Operations
Heather has been an integral part of the company since joining StatRad in 2004. Through her strong leadership, dedication to patient care, and superior customer service she progressed from a teleradiology coordinator to our Director of Customer Operations in 2014. Heather has built a team of staff that uphold high standards by exemplifying efficiency and organization, and prioritizing timely customer communications and issue resolution. She has lead over 300 new hospital implementations and ensures each client, and client hospital, receives the support they need pre and post go-live. Prior to StatRad, Heather worked with La Jolla Radiology at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from San Diego State University.   In Heather’s free time she enjoys baking, reading and traveling with her husband and son.
Vincent Roth
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Roth is an experienced corporate attorney with over 15 years of expertise serving as General Counsel to public and private companies in the high-tech, healthcare, medical device, nutraceutical, and biotechnology industries – and very familiar with operating in highly regulated industries. Vincent recently completed a Master of Laws in IP at the University of San Diego with honors. He received a Master of Laws in Business and Corporate Law from the University of San Diego, as well as a JD/ MBA from Temple University. Additional degrees include a Masters in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA in Marketing and Human Resources from Temple University.
Justin Yoon, M.D.
Medical Director
With over twenty years of clinical practice and leadership experience within the field of radiology, Dr. Yoon leads the physician practice and clinical operations of StatRad. Prior to joining the practice, Justin was the President and Chairman of the Board of the 60-radiologist group, TRA Medical Imaging.  While at TRA, he was a staff radiologist in Emergency Room and trauma radiology for 14 years. He also served as the Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging, St. Francis Hospital. Prior to that he was the Chief Resident at the University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Yoon holds a BS in Engineering Science from University of Virginia, a Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia), and is fellowship trained in Angiography and Interventional Radiology at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Wayne Bartlett
Director, IT and Technical Support
Wayne has been in the Medical IT industry for 20 years, and brings his expertise to lead the technical support operations where he is responsible for the IT team that is dedicated to providing support 24/7/365.  He is excited about the opportunity to use his experience to continue growing the StatRad teleradiology operations. Prior to NucleusHealth, Wayne served as a PACS Administrator at North County Radiology and Imaging Healthcare Specialist and filled in each component of a radiologist practice.  As a Director of IT for Alvarado Hospital Medical Center and Valley Radiology, he has experienced small and large radiology practices and hospital environments. Wayne earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Loma Linda University. In his spare time, you can look for him at a local golf course.
Jordan Molé
Director, Sales and Marketing
Jordan joined the NucleusHealth team as an executive sales representative in July 2015 and over the subsequent years has contributed to and led the Sales, Business Development, and Account Management teams. His support and leadership in these departments have helped the company achieve record company growth. Frequently the initial point of contact for the organization, Jordan focuses on creating mutually beneficial partnerships that will set both the NucleusHealth team and our clients up for a long-lasting, successful relationship. Jordan holds a BS in Kinesiology with a focus in Business from James Madison University and an MBA from Ashford University.  In his free time, he enjoys soaking up the San Diego sunshine with his wife, daughter, and son.
Lyric McCarthy
Senior Manager, Client Operations
Lyric helps manage the Client Operations team alongside Heather.  She joined StatRad in June 2011 as a Client Services Assistant.  Over the years, she has worked to implement over 100 hospitals and supports, with Heather, all StatRad clients.  When Lyric is not working at StatRad, she enjoys getting involved in the community and helping others.  She is a Kiwanis International past club president, has sat on the board for her community’s Relay for Life, and sits on the San Diego chapter interview panel for the California Aggie Alumni Association leadership scholarship for her alma mater, the University of California, Davis.  At UC Davis, Lyric studied International Relations and Italian, and has a dual bachelors.  As the Senior Manager of Client Operations, Lyric applies her desire to help others to the patient care realm.  Her attention to detail and timely response help to ensure StatRad’s client operations run seamlessly.
Cameron Carlomagno
Manager, Credentialing and Licensing Operations
Cameron joined StatRad in 2020 as part of the credentialing & licensing team with a focus on initial credentialing of our teleradiologist. Under Cameron’s leadership, the Credentialing and Licensing Team ensures we are providing the best patient care by thoroughly obtaining, verifying, assessing, and maintaining our radiologists’ qualifications in compliance with hospital, state, and national board and regulatory requirements.  The Credentialing and Licensing Team also works as a liaison between state boards, our radiologists, and our client hospitals, helping to expedite the licensing and hospital credentialing and privileging processes. Prior to joining StatRad, Cameron previously worked in the Human Resource department at the San Diego Convention Center. In September 2021, she began working on the credentialing for new hospital implementations. Cameron earned her Master’s in War & Society from Chapman University in 2019 and her B.A. in history at University of San Diego in 2017. She published and presented her thesis on gender dynamics in the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War, which was cited in Time Magazine in October 2020.
Elizabeth Zacharzuk
Coordinator Manager
Elizabeth joined StatRad in 2016 after 15 years of managerial experience in the veterinary field. Joining her love of multitasking with her desire to help people, Elizabeth heads up our fast-growing Teleradiology Coordinator team. The coordinators play a vital part in our company, ensuring each exam is given the attention it needs while supporting our radiologists and client hospitals. Elizabeth continually strives towards streamlining workflow and implementing policies that adjust to our ever-changing pace to ensure maximum patient care. Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science degree from UC Davis and attained her Registered Veterinary Technician License shortly after.
Brian Bruning
Senior Manager, Product Development and Business Analytics
Brian joined the NucleusHealth team as a business analyst focused on reporting company metrics and supporting each department with insights and maintenance of data integrity. As the company’s needs developed, focus shifted towards the continued excellence of teleradiology services through improving scheduling workflows, developing KPIs, and overseeing many of the company’s enterprise applications. Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University.
